November 27, 2018 - Francesco Ciompi and Jeroen van der Laak have been awarded an ICT12 Horizon 2020 grant as part of a consortium of European partners. The goal of this 4-year project, EXA MODE, is to build tools based on artificial intelligence to aid pathologists in routine diagnostics via automatic analysis of digital pathology whole-slide images of cancer specimens across multiple organs.

May 31, 2018 - Last weekend, Anton Schreuder was presented the ESTI Magna Cum Laude Award for best abstract presentation at the ESTI-ESCR 2018 conference in Geneva. The winning abstract was titled "What is a perifissural nodule? Low inter-observer agreement in NLST data".
November 30, 2017 - Anton Schreuder received the RSNA Trainee Research Prize for his research project "Use of a Risk Model Combining Clinical Information and CT Findings to Customize Follow-Up Intervals in Lung Cancer Screening" in the Chest category.
November 24, 2017 - During the PhD retreat organized by the RIHS, Thomas van den Heuvel won the award for best oral presentation with his presentation on ‘automated detection of maternal risk factors in developing countries’, while Wouter Bulten won the awards for the best 4-slide short talk.
March 17, 2017 - Rashindra Manniesing received a grant from ERA-NET NEURON (940 kE) together with Anne Vik (Norway), David Menon (UK) and Paul Parizel (Belgium) to work on a new axonal injury classification system in neurotrauma imaging. In Nijmegen there will be one research position available to work on the development of deep learning algorithms.

October 3, 2011: Michael Schmidt and Hendrik Laue from Fraunhofer Mevis are visiting researchers at DIAG for three and six months, respectively. Funding from an NWO Vistors Grant was obtained for their visit. They will work on lung image analysis and perfusion analysis.
September 10, 2011: most of DIAG has relocated to the new Radiology building of Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. Clinical and other basic researchers from Radiology are now located closely together, creating an excellent atmosphere for diagnostic image research.
December 14, 2010: DIAG and Oldelft Benelux BV have obtained a research grant from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs for the development of rapid diagnostic platform for tuberculosis that combines chest X-ray, sputum smear microscopy and computer-aided diagnosis.
